At 97, Bernice went kayaking for the first time.
And here, Bernice performs one of her signature songs: Anne Boleyn.
Note: The Downhill Strugglers had to cancel their appearance. We are happy to have Bruce Hutton (see below) joining us in their stead.
Alice was classically trained in violin but, once she was exposed to Scottish and Bluegrass music, her violin suddenly turned into a fiddle and has remained that way since. She has performed Scottish music and has also taught her popular Scottish/Bluegrass Fiddle Connection workshop in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and throughout Scotland. She is in high demand as a dance musician, music teacher, and workshop leader in a variety of musical styles. Alice is also a versatile lead and harmony singer who enriches any group she sings with.

Julia sings ballads with a directness and ease born of long, close contact. She is mindful of the lasting traditions from which the old songs come. Her repertoire includes English and American ballads, chorus songs, chanties, and pub songs. She plays clawhammer banjo. Julia has performed at NEFFA and NOMAD, Richmond Town Restoration, Oberlin College, and at the Eisteddfod. "Julia is an impressive performer. She has a great sense of style, and attacks a song with self-confidence and a sureness of how she wants to express its meaning." Julia is one of the organizers of the Youth Traditional Song Weekend.

Steeped in traditional music and dance from an early age, Erica enjoyed eight childhood years in the Ukrainian Dnipro Dancers performing troupe in NYC. In college, she was a member and conductor of the Yale Slavic Chorus. In the '90s, she fell head over heels in love with Appalachian fiddle music, and knew she had to play it. At about the same time, she started hitting the dance halls to learn Cajun and Zydeco dance. With many trips to Louisiana and other points south, and instruction from many of the finest, she dove right into rhythm guitar, fiddle, song and dance, and has since had the opportunity to play with some of today's most exciting musicians. Erica will be our Dance Caller. Erica's website.
