The 2006 Eisteddfod Award will be given to Ethel Raim at this year's festival.
There is a decades-long tradition in the Eisteddfod festival of giving an annual award to a person who has given extraordinary service in the cause of teaching, preserving, and propagating traditional music, dance, and song of the world's peoples. This year's recipient has given a lifetime of such service, and we are honored to present the 2006 Eisteddfod Award to Ethel Raim. The ceremony will be at the Sunday afternoon concert, November 19.
The Eisteddfod will offer a variety of workshops that range from "mini-concerts" to illustrated panel discussions to hands-on demonstrations and participatory singarounds. Bring your instruments and voices!
